¶ How to get a global domain
The global domain is a secure way of using landing page links in SMS marketing. Since June 2020, we added a new exciting feature to our platform - using HTTPS protocol with customers' domains and landing pages in the platform.
The simplest link to the landing page looks like https://www.infact.no/mmww/data/sites/0000770b/index.html
The shorted version is https://shrtcut.no/xAjdsdw
(https://shrtcut.no belongs to Infact)
But sometimes customers don't want to open links in SMS from YourCompany that lead to unusual domains (to ngdialogue.no or to shrtcut.no). They would 100% trust only the link to YourCompany's website.
Exactly for this case, we added the ability to use the subdomain of YourCompany domain as the main domain for all your landing pages on our platform.
Example:
Company domain is https://bedriftabc.no
Subdomain for using in NGD platform is https://sale.bedriftabc.no
Subdomain for a short link is s.bedriftabc.no
Then all landing pages in Infact platform will look like this:
https://sale.bedriftabc.no/[landing-page-name]
https://sale.bedriftabc.no/another-landing-page-name
https://sale.bedriftabc.no/xxxxxxxx
https://sale.bedriftabc.no/etc
The shortened versions will look like this:
https://s.bedriftabc.no/xAjdsdw
https://s.bedriftabc.no/FY6sdeL
https://s.bedriftabc.no/L36Fetc
The only thing YourCompany has to do is create a specific subdomain and add DNS records of type CNAME (or ALIAS if CNAME can’t be used):
CNAME sale.bedriftabc.no to infact.no
CNAME s.bedriftabc.no to shrtcut.no
To support the HTTPS protocol and make all communications secure and encrypted, we will create an SSL certificate for your subdomain.
Since we set up your subdomain as a global domain for YourCompany in the Infact platform, all your landing pages will automatically get new links in the format https://subdomain/landing-page-name.
¶ NB! Global domain must not have the same name as the email domain. For example, if you have already used info.infact.no for emails, do not use it to create a global domain
¶ Step-by-step guide how to activate a global domain
- You need to choose the global domain's name like kampanje or dialog or any other name approved by the customer.
- Send the customer a table like that:

2.You can enter global domains' names in the Customer Page beforehand. Please do not forget to provide the redirect URL. Note that after this step, the domain cannot be used, it needs to be created by a tech team member.
3. When the customer has checked that their domain are valid (that they lead to our domains), please tag a tech support team member via Slack and they will double-check whether the domains are valid and create them via APP;
4. After the tech team creates the domain, it is ready to use!

Please note that, as per one of our updates, a global domain works for links in emails and browser previews, too.
It hides Infact's links.
If you need to send out email campaigns, you either need to:
- enter the global domain and request me to activate it as described in this article
- or to delete Global Domain settings from the customer profile till it's not done on customer's side. If the domain is in the settings but not activated on our side, there will be an error.
